Subject: Evangelism using foul language

Friends,

We have all heard the worthless and foul language that many people use on a daily basis. They not only use the words hell and damnation incorrectly, but the name of God and Jesus Christ profanely. Those same words should be used to teach and warn people about eternity. When people realize what/who they are talking about, they might think of spiritual things, and possibly about their own eternal destiny!

The other day I had an unforgettable conversation with a man using his bad language as a springboard into the gospel. The young man and his girlfriend were an eccentric couple who decorated themselves with orange hair and a variety of earrings and tattoos.

I struck up a conversation saying: "Hi. How are you doing today?" and immediately, the young man replied, "Who the hell are you?" I presented myself, and he proceeded to use the name of our Lord Jesus Christ as a curse word, and somehow, at the same time, the words "damn it" too. I then quickly replied: "It's interesting that you mention 'hell', 'damnation' and 'Jesus Christ' because that is exactly what I wanted to speak to you about."

The man and woman couldn't help laughing at this lead into spiritual things and it successfully won their confidence. I then asked them what they thought one needed to do to go to hell. They both thought that if a person had sinned they should have to spend some time in purgatory but an eternity in hell just wasn't fair.

I replied, if we could just understand how heinous our sin is in light of a holy God then we would realize that an eternity in hell is the only suitable justice for such a terrible crime. On the flipside God doesn't want anyone to go there and has done everything possible to save sinners from the damnation that they deserve. He sent His Son to die as your substitute. The wrath of God came down upon Jesus Christ so that it doesn't have to come down on you. Now that His wrath has been satisfied in Jesus it is your responsibility to repent of your sins and trust in Jesus Christ as the only way to heaven.

After about twenty minutes of conversation after thanking the couple for their time, I was sure they had things to do and needed to be going on their way. However, they both insisted that they weren't busy and wanted to continue talking about the Bible and God's plan of salvation. (I have been quite amazed in the last four months how interested Americans are to talk about spiritual things). So we spent the next twenty minutes going through Romans 3:23, 6:23, 5:8, 10:9, and 12:1 right there in the Dubuque Kennedy Mall. It was a great conversation and in the end they said that they would investigate the claims of the Bible and seriously think about their eternal salvation.

Please pray about how you might ready yourself to share the gospel at any given moment.

May this Good News be at the front of our minds and the tip of our tongues.

Subject: The $4 Method of Evangelism

Yesterday the evangelism team and I were able to go out, once again, to the Dubuque Kennedy Mall (our favorite fishing spot) to do some cold turkey evangelism. Before we headed to the Mall we spent some time in prayer that God would open up hearts ahead of time, and that is exactly what He did. By the end of the evening every one of the ten people who went out with me was involved in some kind of exciting spiritual discussion.

Normally when we go into the Mall our policy is that each evangelist is on his or her own. We act like we don't know each other and each one looks for someone to share the gospel with. I usually like to walk around the mall for the first 15 minutes or so, scoping things out, seeing where people are gathered at, what kind of people are there, and assessing who looks like they have time for a conversation.

It was extremely encouraging yesterday as I was going through my routine assessment of the situation and as I walked by my friend Mark who was speaking to a young man all I heard was him saying: "Jesus said…." Immediately after that, I walked past Hanna who was talking to a group of 4 college students and all I heard in passing were the words: "The Bible says…." Less than 30 seconds later I passed by Josh who had engaged in conversation with three middle-aged folks and he was saying "God has spoken to us in His word…" I didn't hear anything else from these different conversations but it was inspiring to hear each one of these evangelists basing what he or she had to say on the Bible.

I got so excited I walked up to a group of 5 High-schoolers in the food court and asked them: "If I buy you guy's some Cokes would you let me sit down with you and talk about spiritual things?" They looked at me incredulously and asked "Are you serious?" I said: "Yeah what kind of Pop do you guy's like?" One said "Sprite" another said "Coke" another asked for a Pretzel and the other two didn't need anything. I bought the stuff, we all sat down at a table and we had an awesome conversation for about 40 minutes and cost me less than $4. Pretty good deal!

I opened up my little Bible and read from 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9. These verses speak of Jesus bringing vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel. I treated it just like a home Bible study (mall bible study) and asked I just asked them questions about the text. Every one of those 17 year-olds participated enthusiastically as we talked about Judgment day, righteousness and the gospel. It was great fun and at the same time it was of great eternal value.

After a while these three guys and two girls all wanted to know who I was. They said: "This is crazy, no one just walks up to random people in the Mall and offers to buy them Cokes so he can talk about the Bible. Who are you?" I was able to say that "I'm just a guy who reads the Bible and has a personal relationship with the Living God through Jesus Christ." In the end they acknowledged that they needed to start reading their Bibles and get right with God while there was still time. I didn't want to force any hasty decisions so I directed them to a good church and left them all with some quality tracts.

When all ten of us evangelists met back at the van in the parking lot we were praising God and filled with joy as we related our different experiences. There's nothing quite so exciting as going out with a group of eager Christians to share your faith with anyone that will listen.

Subject: Reckless Evangelism!

Dear Friends and Family,

Reckless evangelism! As you go, scatter the seed wherever you are and with whomever you can. The other day I arrived home, after taking the evangelism team out, and the phone rang. When I answered the man asked for Doug and Beth Macentire. I told him that he must have the wrong number and that no one by that name lived here. He said he was sorry and was about to hang up but before he did I quickly said: "Hey, I know you didn't mean to call me, but since we're on the phone could I ask you a few questions about spiritual things?"

This wrong number caller said: "Sure, I guess so"

Me: "Have you ever told a lie?"

Ron Umber: "Well, yeah, everyone tells lies."

Me: "What do you call a person who tells lies?"

Ron Umber: "I guess a liar."

Me: "Have you ever stolen anything?"

Ron Umber: "Yeah, but just little stuff."

Me: "What do you call a person who steals things, regardless of their value?"

Ron Umber: "A thief"

Me: "You've just admitted to me that you have broken two of the Ten Commandments: `Thou shalt not steal' and Thou shalt not lie'. So far we've seen that you are a lying thief and there's still eight more commandments to go. If God were to judge you on the basis of the Ten Commandments do you think you would be innocent or guilty?"

Ron Umber: "I guess we've seen that I'd be pretty guilty."

Me: "Do you know where the guilty go when they die?"

Ron Umber: "Well, the Bible talks about hell."

Me: "Do you know how you can avoid the hell that you deserve?"

Ron Umber: "No,….. How?"

Me: "Have you heard the story about Jesus in the New Testament?"

Ron Umber: "Well yeah, he was a good man."

Me: "Yes! He not only was a good man, He was God in human flesh who died and paid the price that you should have had to pay. Then He rose again giving us proof of His identity….. Look, you're a lying thief that's guilty of breaking God's commands. You deserve the penalty of hell, and it doesn't matter how religious you might be, you still need someone to satisfy the wrath of God on your behalf. That "someone" is Jesus Christ. JESUS PAID THE PENALTY FOR YOU. Now it's up to you to receive that free gift."

Ron Umber: "I would consider myself a pretty religious guy but I've never heard this stuff before……. Just a minute I want my wife to hear what you're saying."

This man proceeded to put me on loud speaker and I was able to speak to the whole family for about 20 minutes. It was absolutely incredible as I got to fully share the gospel and then hear them promise to read the New Testament and investigate what I had told them. We ended the conversation agreeing that God had a reason and had pre-planned this exciting wrong number phone conversation.

Subject: Fruit of the Gospel

Dear family and friends,

There are some people who get saved and then there are some who "get saved real good." Leonel, a Mexican man who is 24 years old, has been coming to our Spanish Bible study for about a month and a half and last Friday he became one of those who "got saved real good." I normally wouldn't write about something like this so confidently but I'm telling you, this is the real thing! It has been awesome to see!

Several weeks ago, when we met Leonel, we could see his genuine interest in the Bible. Soon afterward I asked him to begin Curso Vida (a very clear study of the Gospel in 5 lessons). After a few weeks of Bible studies and the first lesson of Curso Vida Leonel demonstrated a very good understanding of the gospel. He commented to me: "It's like God brought me straight from Mexico to Dubuque just to meet you guys and get me into your Bible study so that I could hear the gospel." Wow! Read John 6:44!

He clearly understood that his sins separated him from God and that he needed to repent and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as the only way to heaven. That night I encouraged him to not delay in this all- important decision that would have eternal consequences. For the next couple of days he thought these things through and then on Friday night, while with a few believers from the Bible study, he took that step of faith and passed from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God's beloved Son.

Since then, Leonel and I have met several times as we have begun the discipleship process. It has been absolutely wonderful to see how this guy, who previously knew nothing about the Bible, is now "eatin it up." Praise the Lord!

Thank you so much for your much needed prayers and financial support. It is exciting to when the Lord lets us see His fruit as we labor for Him.

Subject: Where did August go? Is it almost October already?

Dear Family and Friends,

Thank you for your prayers and financial support during our transition time here at Emmaus. Things are going very well and we are, as usual, very busy. Amy is homeschooling the kids, a leader in the women's bible study, playing soccer, and keeping our family in order. I, Micah, am having a good time preparing myself with: Survey of O.T, Acts/Paul, Proverbs, Minor Prophets, Christian Life and Bible Study, & Personal Evangelism.

Please pray for guidance in which ministries the Lord would have us focus our time on while here in Dubuque. Last Sunday, we had everyone who attends Riverside Bible Church over for lunch on Sunday for a time of fellowship, and all were very encouraged. So far, we have had the Spanish Bible Study at our home several weeks in a row, and are working on getting all the new believers into a discipleship course one on one with another believer. We look forward to seeing what the Lord will do in this aspect as we are the only Evangelical ministry to Hispanics that we know of in Dubuque.

On the personal evangelism note, I've managed to put together an evangelism team composed of eager Emmaus students. Last Friday, 17 of us went out into the streets and parks to share the gospel with whomever we could. It's encouraging to see these fellow believers boldly share their faith and, in the process, learn how to more effectively reach the lost. We've had some great "street conversations" as we ask the most important question in this life: "Where will you spend eternity?" Please pray that the Lord would raise up laborers. We hope to continue this ministry throughout the year.

Dear Praying Friends,

It has been a crazy ride for us in the last couple of weeks as we traveled more than 8,000 miles in about a two week period. Our travels included buses, planes and automobiles. The day after we arrived in Dubuque, Micah's parents came from Oregon to help us with some projects and the day they left, classes at Emmaus started.

We thank the Lord for safety, good health, and smooth travels. Our time in Houston was extremely encouraging as was our time with Micah's parents. Presently, it is nice to be settling once again in Dubuque, taking a deep breath, and feeling for a time, a certain extent of stability.

Please pray for us as we aim to use our time to the maximum in order to be better prepared for the Institute (IBEM) in Peru.

Dear Friends, Family and Partners in the work,

We have had a REALLY busy last couple of weeks, and we're only about halfway through the craziness. I urgently needed to get this out a couple of days ago and because of all the stuff we've been doing, it just hasn't been possible `til now.

As many of you know we were expecting our fifth baby in January. That has changed! Our fifth baby was born Tuesday, August 1st. It was a boy. Jesus decided that he wanted him in heaven with Him. While we're all sad, as a family we trust that God always knows best. The kids now have one more person to look forward to seeing in heaven J Please pray that God would continue to graciously bestow his kindness on our family as he has been an immense comfort as we continue to see his loving hand through this.

Our house is packed up and moved, and pretty much everything is in order for us to leave on the 14 hour long bus-ride to Lima tonight (Thursday August 3). We'll be there a few days to get some paperwork taken care of before our flight on Tuesday, August 8 at 10am. Our final destination is Dubuque, where we will arrive the next day via our car from Chicago. Please pray for safety in all these different segments of travel.

The Lord is the Living God and we have been truly encouraged by his close presence in the last days.

Thank you for praying for us.

Subject: TRAVEL UPDATE!

Friends!

**ALERT! In case you haven't noticed -- the Tuttle family is ALWAYS on the move!**

We are about to embark on yet another segment of this adventure we call `missionary life and work'!

I'll outline our next couple months quickly here, and then if anyone has questions, please contact us.

So, here goes…

  • Monday, Micah taught his first day of classes in the Institute (IBEM) in Trujillo – I'm sure he'd appreciate your prayers for thit. He'll be there for the next two weeks, but his heaviest teaching load is this week. (Sometime this weekend, the kids and I will drive down to be with Micah – we will for sure be in Trujillo 7/24-7/29)
  • July 29th – August 3, we drive back here to Cajamarca, load up everything packed from our house and store it.
  • August 3rd, we take an all night bus to Lima. August 8th we fly to Dubuque, IA
  • August 13h – 25thish, we'll be spending in/around Houston, TX with First Colony in SugarLand. YAY!! J
  • Classes at Emmaus begin August 28, so we'll get back there in time for that!
  • The plan is to finish a whole year of classes this time instead of only one semester… thanks to a new family member expected the first week of January who will make it quite difficult for travel immediately preceding or following his/her arrival.
  • As always, we continue to wait on the Lord's constant guidance in all of these matters. We strive to follow His leading and welcome whatever changes or corrections to our plans that He might present us. Please pray that we will allow Him to constantly be preparing us for a work, while he has already been preparing a work for us! (The key is finding out what that good work is!! One small step at a time, so far…)

Sometimes when we inform you of our plans in such a concise manner, we realize you may have some questions about the details, so, please don't hesitate to ask us! We prefer to assure you ourselves if you have any questions so that we can be sure that you get the genuine information and not counterfeit news through the grape-vine!

Plus - we love correspondence! :)

As always we are SO thankful for your continued prayers for us and the different ministries we are involved in all over the Americas :), as well as for your financial support. We hope to see as many of you as possible during our time in the States.

I will send a separate e-mail soon of a list of specific prayer requests.

Amy, for all

Dear People who pray :)

**OFFICIAL INSTITUTE NEWS** We felt that we should contact you to ask for some specific prayer regarding the events that will be taking place here in Trujillo in the coming weeks. This Sunday sees the commencement of the second teaching module of the Bible Missionary Institute IBEM and hopefully 15-20 students will be attending the 4 weeks of fairly intensive teaching and training. It would be hugely appreciated if you could help to support this work in prayer - we've added some specific requests below:

1) For safety in travel for the both the students and teachers - some are travelling many hours to reach Trujillo, the practical placements will entail a lot of movements and then the return journeys follow.

2) For the classroom studies. That the students will quickly re-adjust to the routines and demands of study and that the teachers will have wisdom and clarity in their teaching.

3) For the practical placements which will be in an orphanage, prison and drug rehabilitation centre - that these will be a blessing for the students, for those involved in the projects and most importantly, for those that are being reached.

4) At the weekends the students will be helping in some of the smaller churches surrounding Trujillo and forming small mission teams. Please pray for fruit from their work and encouragement for these churches.

5) Lastly, and most importantly, please pray this coming 4 weeks will be filled with a real sense of Christ's presence. Pray that for all involved, their individual relationships with the Lord will grow and develop and that we'll come to know him better through the time spent here.

**PERSONAL NOTE** See the website for the Institute created by our own Amy Tuttle! www.redesdemision.org.pe - of course it is all in Spanish! :)

Micah will be teaching in the Institute for these two weeks. Amy will stay back in Cajamarca with the kids for the first week and then drive to Trujillo to meet Micah for the second week. Upon our return, we will have several days to finish up moving the house to storage (everything that is in our house, that is... not the whole house!), before we fly to the US.

Please keep us in your prayers through this VERY busy next month! Thank you,

Micah and Amy

That's right! We were all pretty sick last month, and Amy's part was somewhat related to the fact that we are expecting the 5th LITTLE Tuttle around the beginning of January. We are very excited! Sometimes, good things come when you least expect them.

Please keep us in your prayers, especially when it comes to health for all of us.

Tuttle Tidbits - June 22, 2006

Dear family and friends,

We have just completed a very busy week. Some friends of ours, Jon and Ruth Sonoda, came for a visit in which there was hardly a dull moment. They got the full experience of ministry in Cajamarca Peru as we tried to show them the different things that we're involved in here.

We preached to the youth group, open air in the market, in San Marcos, and at a riverside baptism. We also did some one on one evangelism in the streets, visited believers, attended a home bible study, and spent a couple of days at a leaders conference in the campo. Jon even got to eat guinea pig brains and sheep guts soup. We almost had to eat boiled sheep hoofs but we some how got out of that one.

The leaders conference was a lot of fun as I taught 7 times in two days. I even got to do some adobe to adobe evangelism during one of the break times. We preached in the evening at a evangelistic meeting in which 17 people came forward to make decisions for the Lord. Please pray that they would stand the test of time. That night Jon and I tried to sleep at the freezing cold altitude of about 11,000 feet. Up that high on a cold clear night the stars are absolutely amazing. Just looking at them puts you in awe of our great God who put them there.

Evangelism - "Preach the word in season and out" Do you realize that means that there are only two times we should preach?! …in season or out of season! I'm not sure whether today was in or out of season but I decided it was a good day for an open air meeting.

I began by having some fun with the presidential election, asking a few people who they voted for (drawing an immediate crowd, giving the impression that I was a politician). Then I asked if Jesus Christ had been a candidate if they'd have voted for Him. From there I shared a big blown up color chart showing in picture form, eternity past to eternity future. The interest was such that they almost knocked us off our chairs as they crowded in closer to see and hear. We have had a lot of open air meetings lately, but today was special, the Spirit of God seemed to be working in many hearts. Please pray for genuine repentance and a turning to Christ.

Discipleship - One huge encouragement to us is a man named Rudy, a believer of just 2 years, showing considerable growth. We've been going out several times a week to tell people about Jesus. We follow up our outings with an hour of doctrinal training. Please pray for Rudy.

Church - This last Saturday we had a Leaders' Retreat at a beautiful lake. Along with the 40 leaders, we had fun in fellowship by praying, singing, and of course eating together. Please pray that Centro Biblico would be a bright light in Cajamarca.

Family - As a family we have been a bit discouraged lately, mostly because of sickness. For the last month we've been quite sick with bacterial stomach problems. It started with me, then Javen and on through the kids. Now it's got a hold of Amy pretty good, and I'm feeling pretty bad again tonight. Please pray for our health.

Peru - The presidential elections took place here yesterday. The Peruvians had to decide between two candidates who, in my opinion, are both bad news. One is a good friend of Fidel Castro and Venezuela's Chavez who wanted to employ communistic ideas. The other as president 20 years ago, the country was in dire straits with a ruined economy, and the rising of the terrorists, the Shining Path. They elected the former. Please pray for the political situation here in Peru.

Friends and Fam!

Thanks for your continued interest in our ministry and thanks for signing up for our new fangled e-mail list!

The first week in May we spent in Trujillo looking over preparations for the 2nd module of the Bible Institute (IBEM). We got to see a couple possible locations for rent, and made plans for the website and newsletter/magazine. We are anxious to see what the Lord will do! Classes are scheduled for July 16- August 12 of this year.

We know that many of you are anxious to hear about our specific plans regarding the Institute. However, we are still seeking the Lord, and are not 100% sure of what our ministry will look like exactly. Our hopes are these: We would like to contribute whatever gifts and time the Lord grants us for the Institute, participating in the modules that take place two months of every year for the next few years at least.

We are unsure whether that warrants a move back to Trujillo, because we are unsure if this would be our full-time focus at this point. We are considering a move to a new "un-churched" area where we could begin an evangelism/church planting ministry. Please pray that the Lord would give us clear guidance and wisdom and that he would cause things fall into place regarding the manner and the timing for all of these things. We are praying that the Lord would provide a team to work with if we are to move to a new area.

Specific prayer requests: ( http://tuttlekids.com/prayer.html )
For our family especially our wonderful kids (homeschool, faithfulness, love, joy, patience in family life),
Wisdom and Guidance in decision making,
A team if the Lord should move us to a new area,
That the Lord would grant results from sowing the GOOD SEED that Micah has done here in Cajamarca
(see attached photos for evangelism or visit: http://tuttlekids.com/Gallery/album07 )

TuttleTidbits- New pictures...A Contest...and, Do you like the fresh new format?

Thanks to all of you faithful friends and fellow followers for not forgetting us!

We are feeling some fun coming on! See the PS at the finish for the friendly competition! We just wanted you to know that YOU are among our favorite people in the world! Here is a challenge for you... you must encourage all the people you know to sign up for our feeble attempt at a newsletter and soon! We will be sending our next letter in approximately 2 weeks to fill you in on what's been happening of late. I know that you are all waiting on pins and needles, but we figure that looking at some of our fotos might tide you over until we can fellowship again. When you click on this link: http://tuttlekids.com/Gallery (if it doesn't work, try copy and pasting it into your browser address bar) you might feel a little flighty or lightheaded at the sight of some of the frightening scenes... I mean, Micah saw it fresh and HE just about fell over and fainted! I've posted pictures of the missions team we just hosted, we were amazingly multi-national around here with five nationalities including a French woman and a fine dentist. He practically flew pulling teeth (seventy-five in one day), and those things are far from fragile! He fed them anesthetic to dull the feeling and then after a big YANK, the teeth practically fell out! Well, visit our Gallery full of fotografías, and we´ll fill you in on all the fun foibles fairly by the finish of the week following next. We covet your fervent and frequent prayers on behalf of our family!

Fondly,
Amy Tuttle

PS. CONTEST #1- To play: The FIRST and FIFTH person to e-mail me with the theme-letter-of-the-alphabet used frequently throughout this note, will win a fresh flower! Frantic now! You COULD BE the first... or the fifth!

CONTEST #2- To play: Count the number of times the theme letter is used throughout this note (PS's included) and e-mail me to win! -By the way, I haven't the foggiest idea! :)

Feel free to leave friendly feedback!

Tuttle Tidbits - April 20, 2006

Dear friends and family,

Just got back from doing some more street evangelism. As always, it was an exciting time, with the opportunity to plead with many people about their souls. When I addressed the reality of hell, one guy began to vehemently oppose me, saying he didn't believe that hell existed and that it was terrible for me to even mention the idea. (Having someone get upset with you when you're doing street evangelism is the best thing that can possibly happen because it draws a crowd)

I asked the man if he believed in buses? He seemed confused, so I repeated: "Do you believe in buses?" He said: "Well of course I do, but what does that have to do with anything?" "Well let's suppose that I don't. and I put myself right in the middle of the highway and scream 'I don't believe in buses!' Do you think that changes the fact that buses exist? Do you think that my disbelief in buses would keep them from smashing me flat as a pancake if I don't get out of the way? No! I can run around stating: "Hell doesn't exist!" "Hell doesn't exist!" but that doesn't change reality. The fact is that hell does exist and you are on your way there; you've got to get out of the way while you still can!"

I really had everyone's attention after I read a couple of verses that speak to the reality of hell (Matt 25:41,46) (Rev 21:8) (2 Thessalonians 1:8-9). After hearing this, they seemed ready for the gospel. You should have seen the man who questioned hell change from my biggest opponent to my biggest supporter. In the end he was the most interested one of the whole group! What a rush it is to reason with people about the gospel and then watch the Holy Spirit work on their consciences.

"Conscience is the internal perception of God's moral Law." - Oswald Chambers

"I never knew but one person in the whole course of my ministry who acknowleged that the first motions of religion in his own heart arose from a sense of the goodness of God, 'What shall I render to the Lord who has dealt so bountifully with me?' But I think all besides who have come within my notice have rather been first awakened to fly from the wrath to come by the passion of fear" - Isaac Watts

Brothers and Sisters,

As twilight began to fall upon the main square in Trujillo the crowd began to grow. I hadn't planned to make it a full fledged open air meeting but that is exactly what it turned out to be. The original plan was for me to strike up a convrsation with one person and then the institute students would draw near (acting as though they didn't know me) and see how I share the gospel one-on-one... the problem with that plan was... a small crowd draws a bigger crowd.

Immediately we had about 40 people around us. I quickly recognized the opportunity and began to speak louder. I preached my heart out as the crowd grew to 60 then to 80 and then to about 100 people. When I had finished I announced (to the horror of one student) that he was going to give his testimony. He did an excellent job and when the unplanned open air service had ended each of the students were engaged in one to one conversations with interested individuals. When we finally left that night the students were all fired up to try it again on the next day.

That's just one example of many exciting events that happened during that first round of Institute classes. I had a blast teaching evangelism to the group of 11 students. We had a few students from the jungle, a few from the mountains, and a few more from the coast - all of whom are leaders in their respective assemblies. It is so exciting to teach people who are already active in ministry, are motivated to learn, and are going to have an impact on the places that they come from!

After teaching the theory in class each day we would go out to the main square and put it all into practice. It was awesome as we were able to share the gospel with hundreds of people. Even more encouraging than that is that several of the students told me that they felt like, for the first time, they were able to effectively share their faith. Please pray that these men and women would have a passion for preaching the gospel and would be effective ministers in their home towns.

Tuttle Tidbits - January 6, 2006

Happy New Year! (Again! :))

Thank you for praying for us and our decision making process over the last couple weeks. We’ve come to the conclusion that, after spending six fruitful months in the States, we will return to Peru February 21st! There are many things that have influenced our decision, the main thing being the first session of the Bible Institute in Peru is February 11 – March 11, 2006.

Our intention is to arrive in time to get a good look and feel of this ministry. From this we want to be able to determine with more certainty how the Lord might use us in conjunction with that ministry and to determine the need for further classes or not.

So, we will be packing up and heading out during the next month and a half. See below for a list of frequently asked questions regarding our plans :)

FAQs:

Will we be coming to visit you before we go?

:) We will be in Portland February 2nd – 13th . Our itinerary includes Cascade Community Church, Northgate Bible Chapel, Eastgate Bible Chapel, Grace Bible Church, NW Missionary Focus, as well as many meals and rendezvous with many friends and families.

:( Unfortunately, we won’t be able to visit Houston again this time, as we had previously hoped.

How on earth can we stand traveling so much and so often? How are our kids with it?

We think that this life is an adventure and you can never go wrong if the Lord is your source of strength. The kids are looking forward to going back to Peru, and they will also miss their friends here in Iowa.

What effect might our plans have on finishing Micah’s degree at Emmaus?

We have determined that Micah would be able to finish his degree in Theology and Biblical Studies in 3 more semesters. The necessity and timing of this is undetermined at this point.

When do we foresee our next trip to the States will be?

The soonest possibility is August 2006 if we decide that Micah should continue to pursue finishing his degree.

So, with that said, we trust that the Lord will continue to guide you as you seek him in this coming year. We pray that He will remind you to pray for us. We praise God for your faithfulness to Him.

In His Service,

Micah and Amy Tuttle
